EU Youth conference and DG meeting
The aim of the EU Youth Conference and DG Meeting was to summarize the results of the last consultation round of the structured dialogue with young people. The event took place in Gödöllő and Budapest on 1-4. March 2011 as an official event of the Hungarian EU Presidency.

The structured dialogue with young people initiated by the European Union aims to involve young people in the discussion about the issues related to youth. The overall priority of the Trio Presidency was youth employment.

EU Youth conference and DG meeting
| On 27 November 2009 the Council of the European Union has adopted the Resolution on the Renewed Framework for European Cooperation in the Youth Field (2010-2018). This document requests for setting up a dialogue between young people and policy makers about the issues of European youth policy. Annex III. of the Resolution defines the implementation of the structured dialogue for the first 18 months under the Trio Presidency of Spain, Belgium and Hungary. | ||
The last national consultation rounds of the structured dialogue with young people finished on 4 February 2011. The results of the third consultation were summarized by the European Youth Forum and presented to the European Steering Committee responsible for the implementation of the structure dialogue. These working documents were the bases for the EU Youth Conference in March where the participants came up with the European recommendations of the third consultation round. The EU Youth Conference in Hungary was related to the previous Spanish Conference in Jerez and the Belgian Conference in Leuven, and served as a closure of the trio presidency’s work related to the Structured Dialogue with young people.
The EU Youth Conference and DG Meeting took place in Gödöllő and Budapest on 1-4. March 2011 during the Hungarian Presidency. Besides the decision-makers those youth delegates took part and represented young people at the Conference, who participated in the national consultations of the Structured Dialogue. The working documents summarizing the national reports was analyzed by the youth delegates and the decision-makers together. The outcomes of the Conference were presented to the Ministers responsible for youth at the meeting of the Council of the European Union, and were attached to the Presidency Note of the Hungarian Presidency.
The EU Youth Conference and DG Meeting was a closed event. The participants were the Director Generals responsible for youth, youth delegates and the representatives of the Youth in Action National Agencies from all over Europe, including EEA and negotiating candidate countries. The European Commission, the Council of Europe and the European Youth Forum were also present together with the European Steering Committee. As the Conference was a flagship event of the EU China Year of Youth 2011, Chinese youth delegates participated also at the Conference.
The EU Youth Conference and DG Meeting was organized by the Ministry of National Resources in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary.
